Why my job is dangerous, part 1. Ladders and wet surfaces



These are the ladders I climb up and down every week. The tide changes like 16 or 20 feet around here. The only thing you are thinking about when going up or down is how well your grasp is on the cold wet metal railings.




The back deck. The back deck is often covered in fish slime and is always wet and slick. There is always at least one obstacle to navigate around, whether it be a rope, bouy bag or dead fish. Every step counts back here or I end up in the fish hold ten feet below.
